io.h未在NetBeans 7.2中找到

我对C++编程还很陌生，请耐心等待。我目前正在做一个C++项目，使用NetBeans 7.2 for Mac Lion。对于这个项目，我的教授给了我们他的main.cpp的代码(根据教授的说法，它是用C编写的)。

当我将他的代码复制/粘贴到我的项目中时，我在#include <io.h>行遇到一个错误，指出"找不到包含文件io.h"，随后又出现了其他依赖性错误。我在网上到处找，但似乎找不到问题。我使用的是GCC/G++编译器，这让我更加困惑。我的教授说"io.h"已经存在很久了，所以他不明白为什么找不到它。我试着从终端使用"locate io.h"命令。然而，它产生了太多的结果，我无法理解哪些是重要的。

我甚至尝试将代码复制并粘贴到XCODE中，却发现仍然找不到"io.h"。
